Capturing attention in 3 seconds
In collaboration with Dr. Aletta Jacobs College, I developed Kwiki, an app designed to help
high school students discover their talents and interests in a playful way.
A key challenge was creating an introduction that truly engaged students and left a lasting impression,
motivating them to explore Kwiki on their own rather than relying only on a teacher instructing them to
download it.
A short, high-energy introduction that sparks curiosity
To address this challenge, I created a short product reel that introduces Kwiki. The reel showcases the app, its core features, key benefits, and goal using a fast-paced and energetic approach, all within 30 seconds. By keeping the video concise and visually engaging, it matches today’s shorter attention spans and builds excitement, encouraging students to start using Kwiki.
The Proces
01. Design requirements and feature selection. I started by defining clear design requirements, focusing on attention span, pacing, and which key features of Kwiki needed to be highlighted.
02. Storyboard. Based on these features, a storyboard was created to structure the narrative, pacing, and flow of the product reel.
03. Asset collection and creation. Existing app screens were collected and additional assets were designed where needed.
04. Animating. All visuals were animated into a fast-paced, engaging sequence.
05. Sound Design. Music and sound effects were added to enhance energy, rhythm, and impact within the short runtime.
